Dr. Rafailov is a triple board certified surgeon with his core training in general surgery and fellowship training in cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Rafailov was first introduced to the Cleft lift surgery during his pediatric surgery training a decade ago. It was then that he came to understand the full extent of the challenges posed by pilonidal disease. Since embarking on his medical career, Dr. Rafailov has diligently collaborated with experts such as Dr. Brian Shrager, the visionary behind the Pilonidal Treatment Center of New Jersey. Witnessing the suffering of numerous patients who lacked access to appropriate care has fueled Dr. Rafailov's deep passion for treating pilonidal disease. Since 2022, he has devoted the majority of his practice to effectively treating pilonidal wounds from across the United States and even beyond its borders.

Dr. Rafailov is a fellow of the America College of Surgeons as well as a diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery.
